There's more fallout from an attack on a student inside a community college restroom.

St. Louis Community College Chancellor Myrtle Dorsey announced in a letter Monday that the president of the Meramec campus, where the attack occurred, has resigned.  Meramec President George Wasson's resignation is effective immediately.

This follows sharp criticism about the college’s handling of the attack.  The suspect, 18 year old Jevon Mallory, had been taken into custody, immediately after the incident, but was released by campus police with a warning.

He was re-arrested five days later and is currently in jail, facing felony assault charges.

Another issue of contention is the fact that no campus alerts had been issued after the attack.

Wildwood Campus President Pam McIntyre will take over as interim president of the Meramec campus during a search for Wasson’s replacement. Wildwood’s vice president will be interim president of that campus.

Powerful blast injures up to 40 in Prague

Monday, 29 April 2013 04:30 Published in National News

PRAGUE (AP) - A powerful explosion has damaged a building in the center of the Czech capital, Prague, injuring up to 40 people. Authorities say they believe some people are buried in the rubble.

Police spokesman Tomas Hulan says it is not certain what caused the blast in Divadelni Street, but it was likely a natural gas explosion

The street was covered with rubble and has been sealed off by police who have also evacuated people from nearby buildings and closed a wide area around the explosion site.

Zdenek Schwarz, head of the rescue service in Prague, says up to 40 people have been injured.

Windows in buildings located hundreds of meters from the blast were shattered, including some in the nearby National Theater.

More testimony is expected today in the trial of a St. Louis man charged with killing three people at a Minnesota home last year.

Thirty-five year old Eddie Mosley is charged in the deaths of DeLois Brown and her parents, Clover and James Bolden, Senior.  The Bolden's had just moved from East St. Louis to be closer to their daughter.

Mosley's half-sister testified Friday that he'd seemed "desperate" to silence a teenager who had accused him of molesting her.  She testified that he'd called the girl's mother several times in the days just before the murders.

Prosecutors say Mosley had driven from St. Louis to Brown's Brooklyn Park, Minnesota home to silence the girl, but she wasn't there.

Mosley's attorney says he had no motive for the killings.
