HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - More than two months after a woman's body was found along the banks of the Mississippi River near the northeast Missouri town of Hannibal, her identity remains a mystery.
Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn told the Hannibal Courier-Post that police are no closer to identifying the woman than they were when the body was found in September.
Shinn believes the woman was not from the Hannibal area. He says one possibility is that she was in the country illegally.
There was some evidence that she toured the Mark Twain Cave two days before the body was found. The cave is south of Hannibal, not far from where the body was discovered.
St. Louis Police have identified the man found stabbed to death inside a vacant North St. Louis building.
40-year-old Kevin Davis was found with multiple stab wounds to the back inside a building in the 3700 block of Cote Brilliante. Anyone with information should contact the St. Louis City police.
Authorities are still unable to identify the body of a young woman that washed up on the banks of the Mississippi River in the Hannibal area.
The Marion County Sheriff is asking for the public's help to ID the body. The victim was apparently 15 to 30 years of age, 5-foot-3 and weighing about 135 pounds with shoulder-length black hair.
Authorities are left with more questions than answers after finding a woman dead inside a car this morning.
The body was found around 6:30 this morning in St. Peters. Authorities doe not know the cause of death, but do not believe she was the victim of a homicide.
Police said they could not give any more details until an autopsy was performed.

Police found the car along the side of eastbound Interstate 64 in Chesterfield around 9:30 this morning. KMOV reports there were no clues as to his cause of death. The victim has not been identified.
