Enterprise Holdings names Pamela Nicholson CEO
For the first time in the history of Enterprise Holdings, the CEO is not from the Taylor family who founded the company.
Pamela Nicholson already served at the company's President and COO before be named the Chief Executive. he position has been held since 1991 by founder Jack Taylor’s son, Andy Taylor, who will continue to be actively engaged with the company as Executive Chairman.
Nicholson’s started as a trainee with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in 1981.
Enterprise buys Chicago car-sharing company
St. Louis-based Enterprise Holdings is expanding its presence in the largest city in the Midwest.
Enterprise announced the purchase of IGO--a non-profit car-sharing company in Chicago. IGO was created as a pilot program to encourage city residents to use multiple forms of transportation and lower family's transportation costs.
This is not the first foray into car-sharing for Enterprise. They also purchased Mint Cars On-Demand in Boston and PhillyCarShare in Philadelphia. Every IGO employee has been offered a job with Enterprise.
Enterprise Holdings increasing hiring of veterans
Enterprise Holdings is increasing their hiring of veterans as we head into Memorial Day Weekend.
The company says they have already hired more than 600 vets this year and plan to increase that number to 2,000 by the end of the year. Enterprise is part of the nation-wide 100,000 Jobs Mission--a campaign to hire 100,000 veterans by 2020.
Enterprise is named after an aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. Company founder Jack Taylor served as a Navy Pilot aboard the carrier.
