A Jefferson County woman faces child abuse charges after allegedly punching her 3-year-old daughter.

Patch.com reports that Prosecutors say that Amy Jordan hit the girl in February. The alleged abuse was uncovered when a state worker noticed a large bruise under the girls eye. The child abuse charges are a felony.

Multi-vehicle acccident on I-55

A multi-vehicle accident this morning along I-55 caused some headaches for drivers. Emergency crews responded around 8:30 near I-55 and Lindbergh in Jefferson County.

KMOV-TV reports a truck hauling a trailer ran off the road and overturned in a ditch. Another vehicle then came to rest on its side. All northbound lanes of I-55 were completely shut down. One person suffered minor injuries.

Arnold councilwoman Christine "Cricky" Lang has died. Lang passed away yesterday at her home.

She'd represented the first Ward on the Arnold City Council for the past three years.

Lang had had a kidney transplant 10 years ago, but needed another one. She was at the top of the transplant recipients list when she died. She was 44 years old.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
