LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (AP) - Two New Jersey officials say 16 workers from a county garage in Toms River have one of the three winning tickets in the $448 million Powerball jackpot.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department Director Jim Pine and Freeholder Jack Kelly say the employees have the ticket sold at an Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor.

Pine says they're a group of "wonderful, hardworking people," who showed up for work on Thursday.

Paul White, a 45 year old project engineer from Ham Lake, Minn., claimed his third of the jackpot Thursday. He's taking a lump sum, which will amount to $58.3 million after taxes.

The holder of the third ticket, also from New Jersey, hasn't come forward yet. That ticket was sold in a supermarket in central New Jersey.

One of three Powerball winners comes forward

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (AP) - A project engineer from a northwest Minneapolis suburb has come forward to claim one-third of a $448 million Powerball jackpot.

Paul White, of Ham Lake, was introduced Thursday afternoon at a news conference at the Minnesota State Lottery's headquarters.

The other two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey.

White says he learned he was holding a winning ticket Thursday morning after his "significant other" called him to say one of three winners had been sold in Minnesota. He says he purchased 10 tickets for Wednesday's drawing, and found one matched all six numbers.

ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) - None of the three big winners in the near-record Powerball drawing bought their tickets in Missouri, but a $1 million consolation prize ticket was purchased in suburban St. Louis.

The Missouri Lottery says a ticket matching all five white-ball numbers was purchased for the Wednesday drawing at a Huck's convenience store in St. Peters. That ticket failed to match the Powerball number of 32, but did match the white-ball numbers: 5, 25, 30, 58 and 59. The Powerball jackpot was $448.4 million.

Players have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize - in this case, until Feb. 3.

Powerball climbs to $400 million

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — No one hit the Powerball jackpot on Saturday, so the money will roll over: A cool $400 million for the next drawing.

While hefty, the prize for Wednesday's drawing is still well below the record $590.5 million jackpot won in May by an 84-year-old Florida woman.

The winning numbers Saturday were 21, 24, 36, 42 and 45; the Powerball was 15.

The odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 175.2 million.

Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The winner of last month's $590 million Powerball jackpot is an 84-year-old woman from Zephyrhills, Fla.

Florida Lottery officials made the announcement Wednesday after Gloria C. Mackenzie came forward to claim the prize. They say Mackenzie took the single lump-sum payment of about $370.9 million before taxes.

Officials say she is the largest sole lottery winner in U.S. history. She did not speak to reporters outside lottery headquarters, leaving in a silver Ford Focus with family members.

The winning ticket was sold at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, a town of about 13,300 people located 30 miles northeast of Tampa. It is best known for bottled spring water that bears its name.

The winner had 60 days from the May 18 drawing to claim the lump sum.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A lottery official says 1 winning ticket has been sold in Florida for a record Powerball jackpot of more than $590 million.

Terry Rich, a lottery official in Iowa, confirmed the ticket matching all six numbers was sold in Florida. Rich told The Associated Press by telephone that details were expected to be announced later by Florida lottery officials about the actual ticket sold.

Powerball.com said the winner sold in Florida means the current estimated jackpot resets at $40 million or $25.1 million cash value.

The numbers drawn Saturday were: 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 and Powerball 11.

With four of every five possible combinations of Powerball numbers in play, someone was almost certain to win the game's highest jackpot, though chances of winning remained astronomically low at 1 in 175.2 million.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Powerball officials say the jackpot has climbed to an estimated $600 million, making it the largest prize in the game's history and the world's second largest lottery prize.

Lottery officials say the prize is growing quickly Friday because so many people have been purchasing the $2 tickets. The jackpot has grown by an estimated $236 million since the last drawing on Wednesday.

The last jackpot was won on March 30, so it's been growing for about six weeks. The next drawing is Saturday night.

The largest jackpot ever was a $656 million Mega Millions prize won in March 2012. The prize was split three ways with winners in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland.

Odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 175 million.

A Powerball player in the St. Louis area will soon have a fatter wallet.  That's because a $1 million winning ticket was sold at a South County liquor store.

While no one won matched all six numbers to win Wednesday's $360 million  jackpot, Missouri Lottery officials say a ticket matching all five white balls was sold at Telegraph Liquors in the 5600 block of Telegraph Road.   That ticket is worth $1 million.

A $10,000 ticket was also sold at a QuikTrip in Ellisville.

Since there was no big winner Wednesday,  the jackpot for Saturday's drawing has increased to an estimated $550 million.
