   A Jennings woman is in serious but stable condition after she crashed her car into a north city apartment building Thursday night. It happened just before midnight at Martin Luther King and Burd.

   The crash punched a hole in the Arlington Grove Jeffery L. Boyd building. Crews spent most of Friday morning cleaning up the mess.  

   St.Louis police say the 33 year old woman had been speeding, blowing through two stop signs along Dr. King,  before swerving to avoid a stopped car.  That's when she lost control, hit two stop signs, a light pole and a metal trash can before crashing into the building.

   Police say no one inside the building was hurt.

A woman was trapped after her vehicle became lodged underneath the trailer of a semi-truck during a wreck in north St. Louis Monday morning.

Police say the woman was driving a red sedan on Riverview Dr. near Scranton Ave. when it got crashed sideways under the truck around 7 a.m.

The victim was rescued from her vehicle around 7:45 a.m. and emergency workers say she was in stable condition.

Goodwill returns accidental $5,000 donation

SUNSET HILLS, Mo. (AP) — The staff at a Goodwill store in St. Louis County has tracked down a couple who accidentally dropped off $5,000 in cash.

KSDK-TV reports the money turned up among bags of donations left in mid-March at the MERS/Goodwill store in Sunset Hills.

An employee found the money and reported it to supervisors, who reviewed surveillance video to narrow down the possible donors.

They turned out to be a couple from Affton who donated six trash bags of items on March 13th. The woman's 96-year-old father had recently passed away, and she didn't notice the cash among the clothing and other items bagged up for donation.

The accidental donors now have their money back.

Police look for hit-and-run driver

The search continues for a hit-and-run driver Wednesday afternoon.

Fox 2 reports the driver hit two people near the intersection of West Florissant and Pope. The victims were taken to the hospital in unknown condition. No description of the suspect's vehicle has been released.

A Franklin, Illinois man is dead after a fiery crash in Randolph County Tuesday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say 55 year old Mickey Clayton was killed when propane truck he was driving rear-ended a coal truck and caught fire. The accident happened about 2:30 p.m. along County Line Road near Blackstump Road, just east of Steelville.

Firefighters had begun to put the fire out when a propane leak sent them ducking for cover. Moments later, an explosion sent a fireball more than 100 feet into the air. It took about 40 firefighters another hour to get the fire out.

The driver of the coal truck wasn't hurt.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Traffic is moving on Westbound Interstate 64 after an accident closed the road just past Kingshighway.

Several vehicles were involved in an accident and emergency crews shut down all westbound lanes.

Police are turning around drivers waiting in the westbound lanes and directing them to exit at Kingshighway.

Potosi fire chief injured in tanker crash

Potosi’s fire chief is hospitalized following a rollover accident.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Chief Rick Knight was injured in a crash along Highway 47 Washington County around 4:15 Monday afternoon. Knight's truck rolled over, and he was partially ejected.

Fire department officials say the 51 year old was trapped and had to be pried from the truck.

Chief Knight was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center in south St. Louis County by ambulance because weather conditions made it unsafe to use a medical helicopter.

His injuries are described as serious, including broken bones.

An off-duty St. Louis police officer is recovering from a broken leg and a concussion after an overnight car accident.

Police say a car pulled in front of the officer who was driving in his personal car just after midnight at Hampton and Milentz in St. Louis Hills.

The man has been a police officer since 1993.

OCALA, Fla. (AP) — Police in Ocala, Fla., have cited country singer David Allen Coe for running a red light before crashing into a tractor-trailer early Tuesday.

A message on Coe's website says the 73-year-old is "recuperating from his accident and will be ok."

Coe's agent tells the Ocala Star-Banner that his upcoming concerts in St. Louis and Louisville, Ky., have been canceled.

Crews haven't finished building it, but there's already been a crash on the New Mississippi River Bridge.

It happened about 2:00 Monday morning, when a pickup truck struck an car on Rte 3 in Brooklyn, Illinois. The truck pushed the car onto the bridge.

One passenger in the car was partially ejected. Both that passenger and the driver were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police are now looking for the pickup driver. He reportedly stuck around long enough to flag down another motorist for help, then took off.
