   KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghan authorities say a battle with insurgents near Kabul's international airport has ended and all the attackers have been killed. A Ministry of Interior spokesman says two civilians were wounded in Monday's attack that was apparently targeting NATO's airport headquarters. The attackers had rocket-propelled grenades, assault rifles and at least one large bomb.

   A deputy Kabul police chief says there were seven attackers. Two blew themselves up with suicide vests and five were shot and killed by police.

   It was unclear if the attack had damaged facilities inside the airport. The attackers had taken over a four- to five- story building under construction nearby.

   The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

   It was the latest in a series of attacks against the capital this year.

Still no suspects after a 14-year-old was shot outside a North County home last night.

Police say they were called to a home near Lilac and 270 around 10:30 last night. There was a large party taking place at the house. Witnesses said the teen was shot outside the house, but there was no information on who the shooter was.

Police also say they do not know the motive for the attack. The victim is expected to survive.

   St. Louis police say a bizarre case of road rage left a 43 year old man dead.  

   It began around noon yesterday, when a box truck apparently cut off a Lincoln Navigator on westbound Inerstate 70.  

   Police say the SUV followed the truck to the Union Blvd. exit, ramming the box truck several times.  At the light at Margaretta and Union, the driver of the SUV got out of his vehicle and began hitting the truck with a hammer, striking the driver before jumping onto the truck's hood.  When the truck turned onto Margaretta, the attacking man fell off and was injured.  

   The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.  Police have not yet released his identity.

A Hazelwood woman in in custody after allegedly violently beating her 14-year-old daughter this week.

Police say Harmony Camden and her daughter were arguing on Monday when Camden his her daughter in the face and ear, then kicked her and stomped on her back.

KMOV reports the girl was taken to the hospital where doctors found blood in the teen's urine. Camden faces charges of child abuse.

A restaurant cook was attacked and robbed overnight in Shiloh, IL. Authorities say a suspect is in custody.

According to police, the worker was finishing his shift at the 54th Street Grill in the Green Mount Crossing Shopping Center off I-64. Shiloh police rushed to the scene just after 1:00 a.m. Monday after the employee reported being grabbed from behind and robbed while he was waiting for a ride outside the restaurant.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, Shiloh police and Illinois State Police set up a perimeter and used search dogs to track down the suspect.

The suspect was captured by police and taken into custody.  Charges could be filed later Monday.  The employee suffered a minor injury and was treated and released by EMS workers.

A 34-year-old man faces several charges after prosecutors say he tried to rape a Bridgeton woman before violently attacking her with a hammer.

Police say on April 21 Daniel Lee broke into the woman's home to steal coins. Lee found the home owner then allegedly tried to rape her and started to viciously beat her with the hammer. During the arrest, police say Lee also tried to grab an officer's gun.

BOSTON - AP - Three men who attended college with the Boston Marathon suspect have been charged in connection with the case.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev are charged with conspiring to obstruct justice. A third man, Robel Phillipos, is charged with making false statements to federal investigators.

An FBI affidavit says the three men removed bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s backpack from his dorm room at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth three days after the bombing.

The affidavit says Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev agreed to get rid of it after concluding from news reports that Tsarnaev was one of the bombers.

A court appearance for the three is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

A St. Louis Community College student is waiting anxiously for her accused attacker to be charged.

19-year-old Blythe Grupe was in class in the Communications North building last Thursday when she says a man she didn't know followed her into the women's bathroom on the Meramec campus in Kirkwood and began choking her.  

She tells Fox 2 news she screamed--an instructor rushed to her rescue, restraining the man until police arrived.  Chief Banta says they arrested the 18-year-old male student, but had to let him go until warrants are issued...

"Typically, when we arrest somebody, even for felonies, they can't be held for more than 24-hours."

Grupe says she  wasn't seriously hurt, but she says she won't rest easy until her attacker is prosecuted.  

The  suspect has been banned from campus and the case turned over to the St. Louis County prosecutor. 

BOSTON (AP) — Boston police say no suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Police Commissioner Edward Davis also says that the fire at a library a few miles away and more than an hour later doesn’t appear to be related to the explosions at the race on Monday. He says the fire may have been caused by an incendiary device.

Authorities say the blasts killed two people and injured at least 73.

Police say it’s too early to get into specifics about the nature of devices or whether shrapnel was involved.

It's day two in the trial of a 20-year-old man accused of killing an elderly Vietnamese man in the so-called "knockout game."

Prosecutors say Elex Murphy was one of four teenagers who randomly attacked 72-year-old Hoang Nguyen in April of 2011.

According to police, Nguyen was walking home from a grocery store with his wife in broad daylight near Spring and Chippewa, when then 18-year-old Murphy and the group of teens attacked the couple. Police say Murphy punched Nguyen in the head and then punched his wife in the eye. Nguyen later died at St. Louis University Hospital.

In the "knockout game" people are chosen at random and beaten, with the attacks often captured on cell phone video. 

Murphy wept silently in court yesterday as Nguyen's widow described the deadly attack.
