Are you one of the more than 370,000 Missourians signed up to take part in the earthquake drill scheduled for the morning of October 17?

The drill teaches participants to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On". Missouri is one of ten states involved. The drill starts at 10:17 AM and takes just 60 second. Oct. 17 is the anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in California, which killed 62 people and damaged thousands of buildings.

North County middle school dismissed early for Freon leak

Thursday, 10 October 2013 15:31 Published in Local News

It was a short day for students at Cross Keys Middle School in North County.

Ferguson-Florissant School District officials say the students were dismissed at noon after a Freon leak in the school's HVAC system. Over the past two days there had been reports of a mysterious smoke of fog in the gym. Administrators say two students saw the school nurse but no further attention was required.

Officials are now on site to perform air quality tests.
