Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency after the flash flooding yesterday and in anticipation of further flooding expected this weekend.
Nixon is sending Missouri National Guard members to Clarksville and other cities along the Mississippir. The State Emergency Operations Center is also monitoring the flooding and is coordinating with local agencies to provide emergency services.
Police continue to search for a man who robbed the Spanish Lake branch of US Bank.
Just before one the suspect walked into the branch on Larimore Road and told the teller he had a weapon. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man is described as a black man, in his 30's. He is about 5' 8" tall with a slim build. Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Louis County police.
Ameren has set up a memorial fund for one of their line workers who died last week. Dave Burns was electrocuted while performing repairs in the wake of the Hazelwood tornado.
