St. Louis city's plan to end chronic homelessness officially kicked off this week.

The city is focusing on homeless veterans. Members of the city's human services and Veteran's Administration are out trying to identify homeless veterans. The veterans will be given access to housing and services to help them stay off the streets.

The city says the plan to end homelessness will take ten years to complete.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe says the four-campus system is committed to bolstering its mental health services as a separate legal review of a former school swimmer's suicide is expected to soon begin.

Wolfe spoke personally Wednesday about Sasha Menu Courey's 2011 death, noting that his own daughter is a first-year college athlete.

He told reporters that "one of our students is dead. And I don't want to feel that anymore."

The university's Board of Curators is expected to vote later Wednesday on Wolfe's request for an independent report on how the school handled Menu Courey's death and her claims of a sexual assault by several football players when she was a freshman.

The St. Louis Rams are in the market for a new Defensive Coordinator.

The team fired current coordinator Tim Walton. Head Coach Jeff Fisher said in a release from the team, “I wish him well in the future.” The search for Walton's replacement could be a short one. Gregg Williams is expected to be hired for the position. Williams was originally hired by the Rams in 2012 to serve as Defensive Coordinator, but was suspended for the season after the NFL found out he ran a bounty program while with the New Orleans Saints.

Williams was reinstated last year and served as a consultant for the Tennessee Titans.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Republican candidate for governor Bruce Rauner says Gov. Pat Quinn's annual address to the Legislature was "a campaign speech from a governor that is failing the people of Illinois."

Rauner spoke following the Chicago Democrat's State of the State address Wednesday in Springfield.

The Winnetka businessman says Quinn has been in office for five years and is now proposing a new five-year plan for jobs. Rauner notes Illinois has one of the country's highest unemployment rates and higher income taxes than when Quinn took office.

Rauner says Illinois is in an "economic death spiral" and Quinn "is trying to cover it up and put a rosy picture on it."

Rauner is facing Republican state Sens. Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady and Treasurer Dan Rutherford in the March primary.
