ST. CLAIR, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in Franklin County, Mo., are investigating after a man's body was found in a lake.
The Washington Missourian reports that the victim was identified Monday as 66-year-old Jeffrey Wolk, who lived along Lake Thunderbird. His body was recovered at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. There were no obvious signs of foul play.
Deputies were called after two people reported seeing the body in the water. The body was found floating in about three feet of water.
Authorities say he lives alone along the lake.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Former St. Louis Cardinals star Jack Clark is out of his sports talk radio job after his on-air comments alleging Albert Pujols took performance-enhancing drugs.
Clark said on the air last week on WGNU in St. Louis that Pujols' former trainer told him 10 years ago that he injected PEDs into Pujols, who now plays for the Los Angeles Angels.
Pujols responded with a strong denial and said he plans to take legal action against Clark and his employers.
Early Saturday, the company that owns the show, insideSTL Enterprises LLC, said in a statement that the show hosted by Clark and Kevin Slaten has been cancelled.
A telephone listing for Clark could not be found. A message seeking comment from Slaten was not returned.
Crews at Scott Air Force Base have a massive project ahead of them.
The workers are in charge of moving military equipment out of Afghanistan back to the US. Troops are withdrawing from the country at the end of next year.
In total, 750,000 pieces of equipment with a value of $36 billion will be brought back. About $7 billion worth of equipment will be left behind of destroyed.
BOSTON (AP) - Former Boston crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger has been convicted in a string of 11 killings and other underworld crimes.
The 83-year-old Bulger faces life in prison after being convicted Monday of committing or playing a role in the killings during the 1970s and '80s while he led the Winter Hill Gang, Boston's Irish mob.
Bulger was one of the nation's most-wanted fugitives after he fled Boston ahead of a 1994 indictment. He was captured in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2011.
He is accused of shooting or strangling some of the victims himself. In other cases, he allegedly ordered the slayings or participated in some other way.
