Federal, state, and city officials will be on hand this week for the groundbreaking ceremony for the first project of the CityArchRiver 2015 plan.
The 'Park over the Highway' project will feature a landscaped structure over I-70 that will improve the accessibility to the park for walkers. The park project is being funded through a combination of Federal and State dollars, as well as $10 million from the CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation.
CityArchRiver expects implementing the plan will create over 4,000 jobs.
A Hazelwood man faces charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 14.
29 year-old Justin Markham was arrested July 8 for first-degree child molestation. Police say Markham touched the victim in an inappropriate manner between March 1, 2012 and April 31, 2012.
Markham remains at the St. Louis County Justice Center.
MoDOT is preparing to open a highway exit ramp after wrapping up a project.
The ramp from eastbound I-64 to Jefferson Avenue is slated to open sometime this afternoon. The right lane on eastbound 64 will remain exit only at Jefferson until the middle of next month when shoulder work is completed.
NEW MADRID, Mo. (AP) - The former office manager for the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department in southeast Missouri is facing theft charges.
Authorities on Wednesday announced that Deborah L. Cowan is accused of stealing property or service worth more than $25,000. Police have not detailed what was allegedly stolen.
Cowan is free on bond and due in court for a hearing on Aug. 8. She was office manager for the sheriff's department for 20 years.
The charges follow an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the request of Sheriff Terry Stevens.
