O’Fallon Township band to march in Rose Parade

Do you know where you’ll be next New Years Day? The members of the O’Fallon Township High School Marching Band do.

They’ll be in Pasadena, California marching in the 2015 Tournament of Roses Parade.

Tournament Association President Richard Chinen visited the metro-east high school Wednesday to present the Marching Panthers with the traditional Rose Parade flag, marking them as one of 20 marching bands chosen for the 126th Rose Parade. They’ll make the historic 5-1/2 mile journey down Pasadena’s Colorado Boulevard next January 1st.

O’Fallon High Band Director Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds called it “a wonderful affirmation of the commitment and dedication of all the high school musicians in the band.”

This will be the third time the Marching Panthers take part in the Rose Parade.  Under the direction of Vince Cosmonno, the band marched in the Rose Parade in 1988 and 1997.
