LAST TIME OUT: Saint Louis FC saw its run in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup come to an end Tuesday night, suffering a 1-0 defeat at Sporting Kansas City.  The visitors defended well and kept the game scoreless until the 70th minute, when SKC midfielder Graham Zusi headed home the decisive goal off a cross from Benny Feilhaber. In its most recent USL match last Saturday, STL FC played to a 1-1 draw against Harrisburg City Islanders.

THE OPPONENT: Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC enters Friday’s game on a three-match winning streak in USL play.  The Switchbacks have had no problem finding the back of the net recently, scoring a combined 14 goals in the team’s last five league games (4-1-0).  This will be Colorado Springs’ first USL road game since May 30. The club is led by Head Coach and St. Louis native, Steve Trittschuh.

THE NUMBERS: While Colorado Springs is tied for second in the USL in goals scored (25), Saint Louis FC will be looking to break a recent scoring drought on Friday. STL FC has scored just four goals in its last five games overall, and hasn’t had a multi-goal game since a 3-3 draw against Louisville on May 24.

BUSY WEEK WRAPS UP: Saint Louis FC will be playing its third game in six days when it takes the field Friday.  The club hosted Harrisburg City Islanders at Marshall Wireless Stadium last Saturday before traveling to Kansas City for the Open Cup match on Tuesday.  After Friday’s game, STL will have an eight-day break until its next match (June 27 vs. New York Red Bulls II).
