Protesters Target Enterprise Subsidiary Company

Clayton, MO  (KTRS)  Activists are targeting Enterprise Holdings, claiming its subsidiary company is benefiting from the incarceration of minorities.

On Monday afternoon, demonstrators marched in Clayton to the company’s headquarters to call on the Taylor Family, which owns Enterprise to make reparations.  Dozens of demonstrators gathered at Shaw Park and began marching to Enterprise, blocking traffic at times.

One protester, who would only identify herself as Basim, had this to say. “While they have done charitable donations, we looking for reparations, not donations. We’re looking for reinvestment of one-percent of their holdings, which is a 128-million-dollars back into the community they have profited from.”
Organizers claim Enterprise subsidiary company Keefe Group supplies commissary items to prisoners at high prices. This demonstration was done as part of the Day of Civil Disobedience.

Back in May, the Taylor family donated $22 million to several charitable and educational organizations throughout the St. Louis area.
