Public Forum Held For Ferguson City Manager Candidates

Ferguson, MO  (KTRS)  The city of Ferguson is considering input from residents in the hiring process of a permanent city manager.

On Tuesday night a “Meet And Greet” was held for the top Ferguson City Manager candidates. Each gave a thirty minute presentation before community members.

Michael Rogers, who currently serves at the Director of Public Work for the city of Peoria, says his engineering background would be a benefit to his position as city manager. “It’s important that we have someone that’s analytical, who can determine what we are doing, who can look at performance…that’s what I do.”

Sara Imhulse, who currently serves as the Town Administrator for Riverdale Park, Maryland, touted her skills for economic development. Imhulse also says she has a passion to serve the City of Ferguson. “I have endless creativity and tenacity and problem solving and that’s what you need right now. I’m an excellent listener.”

The final candidate who spoke was a familiar name, De’Carlon Seewood. He previously served as Ferguson’s Assisant City Manager.

Seewood says being personable is one of his best qualities for this position. “I believe in having an open office. So anytime a citizen calls me, or sends me an email, or wants to come in and sit down with me, my doors open.” Seewood currently serves as the Village Manager for Richton Park, Illinois.

An official announcement of the chosen candidate is expected in a week or so according to Mayor James Knowles.
