Reward offered for information on police shootings

ST. LOUIS (KTRS) – St. Louis County Police and Crimestoppers are seeking the public’s help as they continue to hunt for the suspect, or suspects, involved in an ambush shooting of two police officers Thursday morning.

As a protest outside of the Ferguson police department was winding down, shots rang out from a nearby hill striking two officers standing next to each other. The officers were injured, but have since been released from the hospital.

County Police Chief Jon Belmar said that while there are currently no suspects, the public continues to be helpful.

“I think it would not be an overstatement to tell you that there has been several people that have been very forthright with the investigation, so that is certainly encouraging,” Belmar said.

Crimestoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest & conviction in Thursday’s morning’s shooting of the two police officers. If you have any information you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-866-317-TIPS. As a reminder, calls can remain anonymous.
