SLPS Makes Changes For 2015/16 School Year

St. Louis, MO (KTRS)  St. Louis Public School students will be going back to school later for the next school year.

Thursday night the Special Administrative Board approved several adjustments to the 2015/2016 school year calendar. The start of the school year has been changed from August 10th to August 17th.

Bell times have also been changed. All schools will start and dismiss twenty minutes.  The District’s first tier of schools will now start at 7:30 am and dismiss at 2:27 pm. Tier two schools will begin at 8:25 am and 8:35 am and dismiss at 3:22 pm and 3:32 pm. Tier 3 schools new start time will be 9:30 am and 9:40 am with dismissal times at 4:27 pm and 4:37 pm.
As a result of starting later in August, the last day of the 2015/2016 school year will be moved from Friday, May 20 to Thursday, May 26. Spring Break will move from the week of March 14 – 18 to March 21 – 25. The two Record Keeping Days on the 2015/2016 calendar are being changed from December 21 to December 18 and May 16 to May 27.
