ST. LOUIS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri is demanding answers about why a Southwest Airlines jet landed at the wrong airport.

Southwest Flight 4013 was traveling from Chicago's Midway Airport to Branson Airport Sunday evening. It landed instead about seven miles away at Taney County Airport, with a runway about half the size of Branson's.

No one was hurt but a passenger told The Associated Press the landing was abrupt.

Blunt, a Republican from southwest Missouri, sent a letter Tuesday to Federal Aviation Administration administrator Michael Huerta urging a complete and thorough investigation.

The National Transportation safety Board is also investigating the incident. The NTSB says it will analyze the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder. NTSB investigators plan to interview crew this week.

Documentary sheds spotlight on Branson

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Documentary filmmakers A.J. Schnack and David Wilson knew it would be easy to make fun of Branson, middle America's flag-waving, family-friendly celebration of musical variety shows and early-bird dinner specials.
The Midwest natives felt a stronger obligation to dig beneath the surface and portray local performers and town leaders as more than aw-shucks Ozark hillbillies.

The result is "We Always Lie to Strangers," a new film that tells a more nuanced story of how the southwest Missouri resort is dealing with the aftermath of an economic recession, an aging audience and performance troupes whose gay cast members live a version of "don't ask, don't tell" among their conservative Christian neighbors.

The documentary will be distributed nationally in 2014. It kicked off the annual St. Louis International Film Festival in November.

Famed Branson play ending after 54th season

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) - A Branson attraction will end a 54-year run this month when "The Shepherd of the Hills" is performed for the last time this month.

The owners of Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theatre said Wednesday the play's last performance will take place October 19th. The outdoor drama was first staged in 1960.

Each production involves more than 80 actors, 40 horses, a flock of sheep and the burning of a cabin. The play is based on Harold Bell Wright's 1907 book about coming to the Ozarks homestead where the drama is set.

The owners cited declining attendance, rising costs and the federal health care overhaul as reasons for the closing. Summer tours of Old Matt's Cabin, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places, will continue to be offered.

NEW YORK (AP) - Singer Andy Williams' eclectic art collection has brought $46 million at a New York City auction.

The works sold on Wednesday, the first of a two-day sale at Christie's.

The late singer's taste ranged from contemporary, impressionist and modern to Latin American and 20th century decorative art and design.

He collected over a 60-year period. The works were displayed at his California and Missouri homes, as well as his Moon River Theater in Branson, Mo.

Auction highlights included Willem de Koonings' "Untitled XVII," which fetched $9.7 million and Jean-Michel Basquiat's "Furious Man, which realized $5.7 million.

Williams died last year at age 84.

The baritone was known for his wholesome, middle-America appeal and easy-listening hits including the theme to the Oscar-winning tearjerker "Love Story."
