BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- AP —Police in Belleville say they’re investigating reports that female students at a Catholic high school secretly were videotaped by one of the school’s sports teams.

Police Chief William Clay Jr. isn’t discussing publicly details of the case involving the several Althoff Catholic High School females who may have been videotaped.

He says the investigation involves a possible violation of state law barring unauthorized video recording in a restroom or locker room.

Clay says the school’s staff did their own investigation of the matter before notifying police May 3.

St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly says a special prosecutor has been assigned to the case at his request because of a conflict in his office.

But when work begins to get rid of an odor coming from the landfill--homeowners who live nearby are staying in nearby hotels. They're concerned their homes could be broken into while they're away.

Missouri Attorney General and Bridgeton police chief Don Hood promise residents both marked and unmarked cars will be patrolling those neighborhoods affected by the temporary move.

St. Louis Police spent Thursday night and Friday morning looking for Noah's parents after he walked into the Schnucks at Loughborough and I-55 just after 11:00 Thursday night.  Authorities say the rain soaked child told officers his name was Noah, he didn't know his last name nor his address. He said the dog with him was named   King and they were both hungry.  The child and his dog were fed by the store manager. A  security guard called police.
