It has been so cold, you probably have not been thinking about your first trip to an amusement park this summer yet.

 

But at Six Flags, they are preparing for the 2014 season. The seasonal employer is preparing for a pair of job fairs, during which they hope to fill more than 2,500 jobs. Positions are for anything from entry level to seasonal management.

 

The job fairs will be held Feb. 1 and 15, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the human resources office. Applicants can apply ahead of time on the Six Flags website.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Police say a woman who died while riding a 14-story roller coaster at Six Flags amusement park in North Texas apparently fell from the ride.

Arlington Police Sgt. Christopher Cook told The Associated Press on Saturday that there appears to have been no foul play in Friday's death at the Six Flags Over Texas park in Arlington.

Park spokeswoman Sharon Parker confirmed that a woman died while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster — dubbed the tallest steel-hybrid coaster in the world. She did not give specifics of what happened, saying park authorities were committed to helping authorities determine the cause of the "tragic accident."

The woman was not immediately identified by authorities.

Police say the Texas Department of Insurance, which approves amusement rides, is involved in investigating the accident.

The Former Six Flags employee who admitted to spying on two teenage girls while they changed clothes, will serve probation.

Jeremy Bates initially faced a felony charge of invasion of privacy, but under a plea deal, that charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. Bates will serve two years probation and must undergo a sex offender evaluation, counseling, and refrain from contact with the victim.

The incident occurred in August of last year in Hurricane Harbor.

Emergency crews have cleared a two vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 44 near Six Flags. The crash happened just before 5 a.m.

All lanes have now reopened along westbound I-44 just past the Allenton/Six Flags exit. The intestate had been closed completely earlier this morning.

Traffic should return to normal quickly.

There's also no word on any injuries or what may have caused the accident.
