Market Street downtown closed due to burst water main
The water main burst overnight Thursday at Market and 17th Streets near the main post office.
Water began gushing into the intersection of Market and 16th around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, just as fans were beginning to leave a Bon Jovi concert at the Scottrade Center.
The water was shut off around midnight, but there is significant damage to Market Street. It is closed between 16th and 17th streets. The main has been shut off and crews are working to repair the pavement.
The parade and run routes are expected to go through the intersection on Saturday. Both the water and street department said there's going to be a run and parade, but they will have a backup plan in case the job isn't finished.
