St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - The Chesterfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect from a robbery and kidnapping which occurred about 5 p.m. on Friday.
 
Police say two female suspects were confronted by security during a shoplifting incident at the H&M store at Chesterfield Mall.  Suspect Cierra Baker, along with an unknown female, attempted to leave the store with stolen merchandise and when confronted, Baker reached into her purse, grabbed a can of mace, and sprayed the security guard before fleeing.
 
The two subjects then separated, with Baker carjacking a woman from the  parking lot.  Baker threatened the woman and forced her to drive from Chesterfield Mall to Big Bend and I-64.  There, the suspect was picked up in a white car with tinted windows.  The victim was not harmed.
 
 Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Cierra Baker or who may have information about this incident or the second suspect, is asked to contact the Chesterfield Detective Bureau or St. Louis Crime Stoppers at 314-725-8477 (TIPS).

Three teens held in connection to carjacking

Two 15-year-olds and 13-year-old are in custody connected to a carjacking Tuesday night.

 

The incident happened outside of a Dollar General store in Fairview Heights. A mother and her 7-year-old son say the suspects pulled a gun on them, demanded money, and sped off in her car. An officer in the area tried to stop the car, but the suspects did not stop. The driver lost control of the car and it slid off the road. After a brief manhunt, police captured the teens.

 

Police say all three teens had “airsoft guns,” which look like real guns. All three teens are being held in St. Clair County. One suspect was already on home confinement for a previous crime.

Carjacking and robbery suspect facing charges

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A man accused of carjacking a vehicle at a suburban St. Louis hospital, then robbing a credit union, is now facing charges.

Charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting arrest were filed Friday against 34-year-old Robert Gusman of St. Louis County. He is jailed on $100,000 bond.

Authorities say Gusman carjacked a Cadillac at St. Anthony Medical Center on Thursday, then drove to Arsenal Credit Union and robbed the facility. He was later arrested on Interstate 55 after a chase.

Gusman's mother reported him missing on Wednesday, saying she had not seen or heard from him since October 17th.

A suspect is in custody after police say he carjacked a visitor at a local hospital and then robbed a bank.

Around 1 PM the suspect stole a car at St. Anthony Medical Center. A short time later, a car matching the description of a the stolen one was used during a bank robbery.

Police say the suspect drove from the hospital and robbed the Arsenal Credit Union. Police managed to stop the suspect in the stolen car on Interstate 55 in south county.

The suspect is in custody, but he has not been identified.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A southwestern Illinois woman faces up to 60 years in prison after being convicted of playing a role in the 2011 carjacking and slaying of a bingo-playing grandmother.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports a St. Clair County Circuit judge found 39-year-old Belleville resident LaTosha Cunningham guilty of murder.

A co-defendant, 21-year-old DaQuan Barnes, has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder related to the death of 85-year-old Yoko Cullen. He awaits sentencing Oct. 30.

Authorities allege that Barnes, Cunningham and another man staked out waited for Cullen outside a Collinsville bingo hall where one of them knew she played, then stopped her from driving away.

Authorities say Cullen was forced into her trunk and driven to East St. Louis, where her car was set on fire while she was inside.

The suspect in a fatal carjacking has pleaded guilty to killing an 85-year-old grandmother.

21-year-old DaQuan Barnes will get a 60-year-sentence for the murder instead of life in prison under an agreement with prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Barnes and two accomplices, identified as 39-year-old LaTosha Cunningham and 30-year-old DeMarcus Barnes, waited for Yoko Cullen outside of a Collinsville bingo hall in May of 2011. Barnes force her into the trunk of her car, drove to east St. Louis, and set the vehicle on fire.

Investigators say Cullen was alive as the vehicle burned.

Elderly man carjacked in Festus

UPDATE 5:37 PM

Police have named a suspect is the armed carjacking of an elderly man in Festus.

Police say 18-year-old Seth Thompson remains on the loose. Thompson allegedly stole a silver 2008 Ford Focus from the 75-year-old victim around 5 AM on Monday. Thompson, who is from Texas, was last seen driving the car south on 61.

Anyone with information on the carjacking is asked to contact the Festus Police Department at 636-937-3646.

 

Festus police say a suspect remains at large after carjacking an elderly man outside of Walmart this morning.

The incident happened just before 5 AM near South 61/67 and Highway A. The victim, a 75-year-old man, said the suspect stole the car at gunpoint. The suspect was last seen driving the stolen silver 2008 Ford Focus with the Missouri plate M-C-5-L-2-G. The car was traveling south on 61.

A woman who claimed that she was shot by a carjacker, is changing her story.

The victim initially told police she was sitting at an intersection in North St. Louis when a man opened her car door, shot her in the leg, and stole her car. After questioning, the woman admitted that she made the story up.

Police believe she was shot in her house, but are still unclear on details surrounding the incident.

The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.
