Man critical after 50 ft. fall following crash
A Waterloo man is critically injured after falling about 50 feet as he reportedly fled from a crash.
The single-car accident happened around 8:30 Monday evening along Interstate 255 just west of Illinois Route 3.
Illinois State Police have identified the driver as 21 year old Thomas Falk.
Witnesses told police that Falk appeared to have a head injury when he got out of his car. Police say Falk argued with someone who had reported the crash to police, then jumped over a guardrail and fell to the railroad tracks below.
Falk was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by Arch helicopter. His condition is reported to be very critical.
Speeding car crashes into north city apartment building
A Jennings woman is in serious but stable condition after she crashed her car into a north city apartment building Thursday night. It happened just before midnight at Martin Luther King and Burd.
The crash punched a hole in the Arlington Grove Jeffery L. Boyd building. Crews spent most of Friday morning cleaning up the mess.
St.Louis police say the 33 year old woman had been speeding, blowing through two stop signs along Dr. King, before swerving to avoid a stopped car. That's when she lost control, hit two stop signs, a light pole and a metal trash can before crashing into the building.
Police say no one inside the building was hurt.
Woman extricated from car lodged under semi off Riverview
A woman was trapped after her vehicle became lodged underneath the trailer of a semi-truck during a wreck in north St. Louis Monday morning.
Police say the woman was driving a red sedan on Riverview Dr. near Scranton Ave. when it got crashed sideways under the truck around 7 a.m.
The victim was rescued from her vehicle around 7:45 a.m. and emergency workers say she was in stable condition.
David Alan Coe concert canceled here following accident
A message on Coe's website says the 73-year-old is "recuperating from his accident and will be ok."
Coe's agent tells the Ocala Star-Banner that his upcoming concerts in St. Louis and Louisville, Ky., have been canceled.
Man charged for role in fatal crash
Forty-one-year-old Robert A. White was charged Friday with first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
Police said White was driving a sport utility vehicle that T-boned another vehicle Thursday. Marcus Dorsey was killed and two passengers were hospitalized.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that White was treated for minor injuries and arrested.
Officials said White had fled the scene of an earlier accident with a St. Louis City License Collector's vehicle. Police said the driver of the city vehicle called 911 and followed the SUV.
The second crash was one or two miles away from the first.
Head-on crash in Illinois, leaves two dead
The Madison County Sheriff's Office say two vehicles collided in the southbound lane of Martin Luther King Boulevard. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
UPDATE: One in custody, two at large after rolling gun battle
Police believe the incident started about 4:30 p.m. at North Kingshighway and Natural Bridge Avenue when two men in a burgundy Ford Fusion fired shots at another car.
A short time later, police were called to North Broadway and Pine after shots were reported in the area. They arrived to find a silver car that had crashed, and bullet holes in the window of a nearby job placement center.
The 25 year old man who'd been driving the silver car was arrested. Police are still looking for the men in the burgundy Ford.
Ballwin woman killed in crash after wrong turn
Twenty-four year old Brooke Bahmler was killed when her car was T-boned on Illinois Route 3 at Yellow Brick Road.
Sauget Police Chief Patrick Delaney says Bahmler had just left Lacledes Landing with her sister and a friend when she made a wrong turn and ended up in Illinois. Bahmler was reportedly turning around when the crash occurred about 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Chief Delaney says toxicology tests will be conducted, but they don't believe alcohol was involved in the accident.
Bahmler's sister and the other passenger in her car were both seriously injured, but are expected to survive. The driver of the other car was treated for minor injuries.
No one hurt after car crashes into Columbia daycare
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports the car ended up several feet inside the business, called Going Bonkers, after hitting a front wall around 10:20 a.m. Friday.
Columbia schools were closed Friday, and officials said about 100 children were inside Going Bonkers. The business has a large indoor playground, arcade and other attractions.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash but say the driver may have had a medical emergency. She and a boy in the car with her were both unhurt.a
