SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — South Korea says two veteran pilots were flying the Asiana Airlines jetliner when it crashed while landing at San Francisco's airport, killing two people.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says four pilots were aboard and rotated in two-person shifts during the flight from Asia.

Officials say more than 300 passengers and crew members were aboard when it slammed into the runway and caught fire. The two dead were found outside the wreckage. Another 182 people were taken to hospitals, many with minor injuries.

San Francisco's fire chief says authorities have accounted for all passengers and crew members who were aboard the jetliner.

The flight originated in Shanghai, China with a stopover in Seoul.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators are on the scene.

A senseless murder in a neighborhood near downtown St. Louis.

Police say a man was shot several times when he went to answer a knock on the back door of his apartment. 35-year-old Mark Wells lived in the apartment at Samual Shepard and Leffingwell--several blocks northeast of Harris-Stowe University--with some of his kids. When he went to answer the door, police believe several suspects shot through the door and killed him.

Two of his boys were asleep upstairs when the shooting occurred. Evidence points towards multiple guns being used.

Police have no suspects and ask anyone with information to call Crimestoppers 1-866-371-TIPS.

COLUMBIA, Ill. (AP) — Murder charges have been filed against a southwestern Illinois man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend on the same day both were expected in court regarding a protection order against him.

Jordan Kuykendall was charged with first-degree murder Saturday in the death of 17-year-old Erin Schneider. Her body was found Thursday in Kuykendall's home in Columbia, southeast of St. Louis.

Kuykendall is being held on a $1 million bond. Police say he isn't cooperating and has an attorney.

Schneider's body was found after her parents asked police to check Kuykendall's residence. Her mother had obtained a protective order against Kuykendall on her daughter's behalf two weeks earlier.

Kuykendall is under police guard at a St. Louis hospital where he's being treated for injuries he sustained in a car accident Thursday.
