Two people are facing charges and third is still at large in a kidnapping and robbery on the campus of SIU-Edwardsville.  At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, campus police said the victim had been set up by a friend.

Two other SIU-E students, 18 year old Jabreel Watson and 20 year old Shantel Rogers are charged with felony kidnapping, armed robbery and burglary.  Police say they are still looking for a third suspect, an unidentified male.

On April 2nd an SIU-E student had reported being set upon outside his residence hall.  He reported being forced into a car at gunpoint, driven to an ATM and forced to withdraw cash.  He wasn't injured.

Police are hoping surveillance video from the ATM's camera will help in their search for the third suspect.

Three teens charged in Roxana HS prank

Three teenage boys face felony charges in connection with an April Fools Day prank that forced a lockdown Tuesday at Roxana High School.
Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons filed disorderly conduct charges Wednesday against two 15 year olds from Roxana and Wood River, and a 16 year old from South Roxana.  The charges are felonies but the cases will remain in juvenile court.
Police from ten agencies responded to the high school Tuesday afternoon after a text message reported shots fired at the school. The school was locked down for about an hour before it was determined that the report had been a hoax.
If convicted, the teens face sentences ranging from supervised probation to incarceration at a juvenile center.

A metro-east man is facing felony charges for allegedly shoplifting a single bottle of liquor.

Madison County prosecutors have charged 23 year old Jason Whitney of Alton with felony theft.  Police say a worker at a Godfrey supermarket caught Whitney red-handed early Saturday morning.

Sheriff's Captain Mike Dixon told the Belleville News-Democrat that the alleged theft qualifies as a felony because of Whitney's burglary conviction earlier this year.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) - The owner of a former license-and-title service in the metro-east is accused of duping more than $30,000 from clients.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports St. Clair County prosecutors charged 52 year old Brian Rainbolt on Tuesday with felony theft and a misdemeanor count of not having a state license as a remittance agent.

Rainbolt's business, Duffy's License and Title Service in Belleville, has been closed since police descended upon it in May while investigating complaints involving vehicle titles and registrations.

Rainbolt allegedly pocketed payments for titles, registrations or other state fees instead of turning the money over to the state to complete the legal transaction.

Online court records don't show whether Rainbolt has an attorney. He does not have a listed home telephone number.
