Police find stolen SUV with infant still inside
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police are searching for the car thief who got more than he expected when he took an idling car - a toddler in the backseat.
The 2-year-old is OK after the scare late Tuesday in St. Louis.
Police say a car was left running at an ATM. The child's father got out to use the machine and while he was gone, someone stole the car with the child inside.
Police found the car minutes later in an alley. The child slept through the whole ordeal.
Officers are looking at ATM video in an effort to find the suspect.
Baby dies inexplicably in Jennings
JENNINGS, Mo. (AP) - St. Louis County police are investigating the death of a 2-month-old boy in Jennings.
The child is identified as Adrian Robertson. Police were called to a home about 3 p.m. Monday. Adrian was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead about an hour later. His cause of death was not released.
Toxicology tests have been performed and the medical's examiner's office is awaiting results.
Coroner: Infant found on bed near body of teenager
St. Clair County Coroner Rick Stone tells the Belleville News-Democrat that 19-year-old Dyilion Rojas was found dead Thursday in a home after someone anonymously called police to report a possible overdose.
The 6-month-old baby was found beside Rojas and was later turned over to a relative.
The connection between Rojas and the infant isn't clear.
An autopsy is planned, and results of lab screenings of his blood aren't expected to be available for weeks.
Missouri woman pleads to 2009 infant death
Martha Farris, of Pilot Knob, entered an Alford plea Wednesday to first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the death of 3-month-old Sam Pratt. The plea is not an admission of guilt, but acknowledges that prosecutors have sufficient evidence to gain a conviction. Attorney General Chris Koster's office prosecuted the case in Iron County. Koster's office says an autopsy showed that Sam died of non-accidental head trauma.
The attorney general says Farris told investigators she swung the baby, "plunked" him down hard on a couch and elbowed him in the head. The case prompted legislation limiting the ability of Missouri child care centers to continue operating while charges are pending.
