McCaskill to propose Congress pay cuts

Friday, 01 March 2013 09:53 Published in Local News
U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill will introduce an amendment Friday that's aimed at making the sequester cuts as painful to federal lawmakers as it is to other federal employees. KSDK-TV reports that McCaskill's bill would cut senate and house paychecks by the same amount that a federal employee might have to take in a furlough. She told the station that if a federal employee has to lose a day's pay each week, then Congress should too. Eighty-five-billion dollars in automatic spending cuts begin today.
