Precautionary boil order lifted in St. Louis neighborhood

The precautionary boil order has been lifted. Water tests show no signs of bacteria in the lines and officials say water is safe to drink.
However, it is not all good news--21 homes along Jamieson Avenue still do not have water. Service is expected to be restored by 8 PM, but those residents should continue to boil their water. Water Division crews have placed placards on the doors of homes where the boil order continues.
The area included in the original boil order was: South of Arsenal, West of Hampton, North of Eichelberger, and East of the River Des Peres.
16 suspects arrested in multi-state car theft ring
Tuesday, 23 April 2013 16:18 Published in Local NewsST. LOUIS (AP) - A federal indictment accuses 21 people in a multi-state car theft conspiracy.
Most of the suspects are from the St. Louis area. One is from Highland, Kan. Sixteen of the 21 have been arrested.
Federal prosecutors said Tuesday that the suspects used a variety of means to steal luxury cars, SUVs and pickup trucks from individuals and dealerships in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. The cars were taken to Missouri and sold or disposed of. More than 100 vehicles were involved.
The indictment also accuses the suspects of falsely obtaining insurance proceeds. Charges include conspiracy, bank fraud, mail fraud and receipt of a stolen motor vehicle.
Jefferson County woman charged for punching her daughter

Patch.com reports that Prosecutors say that Amy Jordan hit the girl in February. The alleged abuse was uncovered when a state worker noticed a large bruise under the girls eye. The child abuse charges are a felony.
