ST. LOUIS (AP) — A St. Louis alderwoman wants people in the city to pull up their pants.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Alderwoman Marlene Davis is proposing legislation making it a violation to wear pants below the waist if it exposes skin or undergarments.
A few other municipalities in the St. Louis area have similar laws. Some civil rights groups say the laws restrict personal expression.
Davis' proposal provides for a fine of up to $500 and up to 90 days in jail for offenders.
VERSAILLES, Mo. (AP) — A man charged with kidnapping a University of Missouri student has been captured after eluding officers for several days.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that 23-year-old Brian Adkison of Columbia was caught while authorities were investigating a residential burglary call. He is jailed in Morgan County. His attorney didn't immediately respond to an email or phone call.
He is charged in Caldwell County with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, inflicting injury and terrorizing her before dropping her off at a Columbia hospital Sunday morning. He also is charged in Boone County with first-degree burglary, rape and deviate sexual assault.
The search has involved a helicopter, more than 50 officers and dogs. Authorities also conducted door-to-door searches.
Lieutenant Mike Nienhuis says Adkison stole several boats before he was caught.
And in another case of deja vu, two workers were injured after problems with their scaffolding.
The workers were part of the construction team building a new CVS pharmacy in Bridgeton. The workers fell 15 feet when their scaffolding became unstable. Both have non-life threatening injuries. Yesterday, four window washers had to be rescued after their scaffolding collapsed. None of the four were seriously hurt.
