ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Gov. Pat Quinn says he'll decide on a concealed carry bill in a "very reasonable period of time" as the state faces a court-mandated deadline next month.

Lawmakers have sent the Chicago Democrat a bill that outlines rules for who can carry.

Illinois had the nation's last ban on concealed weapons in public. But a federal appeals court ruled it unconstitutional. Lawmakers have until July 9 to comply.

Twenty-three Senate Democrats sent Quinn a letter last week urging him to make his intentions known soon. They're worried they won't have enough time to figure out next steps if he vetoes the bill.

Quinn told reporters Tuesday that it's a very complex and long bill and he wants a thorough review.

Several counties are refusing to uphold the state's ban.

Police identify woman found dead over weekend

St. Louis police have identified a young woman found dead over the weekend.

29-year-old Annette Bock was found inside a vacant North City home around 6:30 on Saturday evening. No signs of trauma were visible on her body. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A former southwest Missouri man is serving nine years in prison without parole for an investment scheme that defrauded senior citizens out of nearly $1.2 million.

Federal prosecutors announced Monday that 68-year-old Steven Gwin, formerly of Ozark, was sentenced Friday and ordered to pay $1.17 million in restitution.

Gwin pleaded guilty Aug. 20 to mail fraud and money laundering. Between August 2005 and March 2007, Gwin solicited investments for retirement ventures and conducted seminars for senior citizens to promote the investment programs.

But prosecutors say once individuals invested with Gwin, he used their funds for personal expenses.
