TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) - A pregnant Texas actress who told FBI agents that her husband had sent ricin-tainted letters to President Barack Obama and New York City's mayor has been charged with threatening the president.

Shannon Guess Richardson was charged Friday in Texarkana, Texas. She faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of mailing a threatening communication to the president.

U.S. attorney's office spokeswoman Davilyn Walston says Richardson was arrested earlier in the day for mailing ricin-laced letters last month to President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

It wasn't immediately clear if she has an attorney.

FBI agents wearing hazardous material suits were seen going in and out of Richardson's house on Wednesday in New Boston, about 150 miles northeast of Dallas near the Oklahoma and Arkansas.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) - Two people were found dead in a burned home near Santa Monica College, where someone sprayed a street corner with gunfire just before noon, wounding at least four people.

The Los Angeles-area campus is about 3 miles from where President Barack Obama was attending a fundraising luncheon, just before noon.

Police said a shooter was in custody and the campus was being searched after unconfirmed reports that there was a second shooter.

A man dressed in black, with the words "Life is a Gamble" on the back of his sweatshirt, was seen being taken into custody by law enforcement officers.

Four shooting victims were admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. A hospital spokesman says two were in critical condition, one was in serious condition, and one was in good condition.

CHAFFEE, Mo. (AP) - Federal investigators say a Union Pacific freight train involved in a collision with another freight train had a signal to stop at the rail intersection where the crash occurred in southeast Missouri.

The May 25 accident occurred when the UP train hit the side of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train at the rail intersection near Chaffee. The accident derailed about two dozen rail cars, destroyed columns supporting a highway overpass and injured seven people, though none seriously.

The National Transportation Safety Board says in its preliminary report released Friday that signal data show the UP train had a signal indication to stop at the intersection, and the BNSF train had a signal to proceed through the intersection.

The report also says the damage is estimated at $11 million.
