Monday, 14 April 2014 16:30 Published in Local News

An autopsy will be performed to try to determine how a West St. Louis County woman died after her body was found floating in a pond near the Reflection Cove Apartments near Ballwin.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a passerby crossing a walking bridge about 7:30 Monday morning saw the body in the pond.  The woman was floating in three to five feet of water.

The woman was in her late 60s and police say she had been seen by her husband earlier in the morning. Her name hasn't been released.

Six people, including four children are being treated for injuries at a Jefferson County hospital after a school bus accident west of Herculanium.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the accident happened on Highway Z at Persimmon Point.  Police say its not yet known what caused the bus to roll off the road and into a ditch.

The bus driver, an aide and four students were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus with what police are calling minor injuries.

The bus had been transporting children home from the Maperville State School.  The school serves severely disabled children.

No evacuations are expected due to a gas leak in Fenton.

Police tell Fox 2 News that city workers were repairing a water main at Ferry and Main Streets when they accidentally struck a gas line, rupturing it.  The intersection is closed while utility crews work to repair the line.

Police say gas is escaping, but it's dissipating in the air.
