St. Louis County Detectives Break Up Home Remodeling Theft Ring

ST. LOUIS (KTRS) St. Louis County detectives have arrested four suspects in what’s described as a home remodeling theft ring that netted hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen property. Since 2014, detectives investigated burglaries and thefts from newly constructed homes and residences in various states of remodeling. Suspects were burglarizing the homes and stealing a variety of items from them. They would in turn sell them for profit or install them in other residences. The suspects targeted homes across the region, including St. Louis County, St. Louis City, Jefferson County, St. Charles County, and St. Clair County.

Police say hundreds of thousands of dollars of stolen property have been recovered in the 3700 block of Bates, within the City of St. Louis. The property ranged from thermostats and doorbells, all the way up to high dollar refrigerators and stoves. Much of the recovered property has been returned to the rightful owners who have been in contact with detectives.

If any homeowners, contractors, or construction workers believe they have been a victim of this, please contact the lead investigator at (314) 615-4169.
