St. Louis, MO ( KTRS ) – Authorities say a Ferguson man who worked as a kitchen manager at the St. Louis city jail smuggled drugs to inmates.

24-year-old Anthony J. Pitt has been charged with nine felonies related to the drug transactions.

Court documents say Pitt admitted to bringing the heroin, cocaine and marijuana to the jail. He was paid $50 to deliver a package he received once a month from an inmate’s family member or friend.

The St. Louis City Division of Corrections called police after they discovered the scheme last year.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Pitt has an attorney.
