St. Louis Police Open Fire As Suspect Drives Car At Them

ST. LOUIS (KTRS) St. Louis police officers fired at a suspect wanted in a pair of incidents earlier in the week as he drove his car at them. The shots struck the suspect, who is hospitalized in critical condition. Acting St. Louis Police Chief Lawrence O’Toole says the suspect was wanted for felony fleeing in the two previous incidents. He says First District officers spotted the suspect in his car in the 4200 block of South Broadway about 12:40 p.m. Saturday. When officers approached the car, Chief O’Toole says the suspect started his car and drove at one of the officers. The officer fired and struck the suspect. No officers were hurt.

Chief O’Toole says the officer has been placed on administrative leave as mandated by department policy.
