St. Louis Police Seek Suspect in Two Murders, One in the City, One in the County

ST. LOUIS (KTRS) St. Louis police say they believe two shootings Thursday morning that left two people dead – one in the Baden neighborhood in the city and then one in unincorporated North St. Louis County – are related. They’re looking for the same suspect in both murders. Police say they have a photo of the suspect vehicle and it is posted on our website.

In the first shooting, a woman was shot and killed and a man critically wounded in the Baden neighborhood. St. Louis police say a utility subcontractor was in an alley in the 1100 block of Canaan to fix a broken street light just before 9:00 Thursday morning when a man walked up to the homeowner who called about the light. The worker saw the man shoot at the light, then shoot the homeowner in the head. The worker drove to what he thought was a safe place to call police. But when he looked up the shooter was there and stole the worker’s truck and cellphone.

Then, some time later, a shooting in the parking lot of a gas station in North St. Louis County left one person dead. St. Louis County police say it happened just before 9 o-clock this morning in the 36-hundred block of Dunn Road, when police responded to a report of a shooting at a Conoco gas station. An unknown suspect vehicle started shooting at the victim’s vehicle while on the parking lot. After the shooting, both cars drove off the lot.

Police say the victim’s vehicle drove to a nearby hospital, where a man was pronounced dead from at least one gunshot wound. Police are not saying how the victim drove to the hospital.
