Stenger Blasts Past Dooley For County Executive Nomination

ST. LOUIS, MO — The voters have spoken in a big way in the race for the democratic nomination for St. Louis County Executive.

Incumbent Charlie Dooley was beaten by Councilman Steve Stenger by more than a two-to-one margin in Tuesday’s primary election.

Dooley was appointed County Executive following the death of Buzz Westfall and has been serving for the past 11 years.

Stenger will now face State Rep. Rick Stream, who defeated Tony Pousosa for the Republican nomination.
