Support And Disappointment Expressed Toward Mayor At Ferguson Meeting

St. Louis, MO (KTRS)  Despite efforts to oust Ferguson Mayor James Knowles, he had several supporters at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

Dara Ashby says she’s against this initiative to recall the mayor. “He’s got an open door policy since everything has started and before that. Most of the protesters have refused to meet with him when he’s invited them in to talk about solutions, so he’s just an awesome.awesome mayor.”

Meanwhile, Nick Kasoff, one of the organizers with this recall effort had this to say: “He hasn’t been taking this effort seriously. We have. We intend to move forward and one way or another, we intend to make this happen. So we are putting Mayor Knowles on notice.”

Organizers claim they have collected 2200 signatures and hope to file the petition with the city clerk on Wednesday. Kasoff says attempts were made to file on Tuesday, but the city clerk left before the end of the business day.

The city of Ferguson released a written statement, acknowledging the recall petition and stating “ we respect the rights of those individuals who are participating in the recall effort…”
