The officer who was driving the car is on administrative leave, but police tell the paper they do not suspect any wrongdoing
(KTRS) – Multiple police departments are investigating after an assault suspect jumped out of a moving police car onto Interstate 170.
The suspect, Brian Strothkamp Jr. died the day after the incident. Police say that around 11 AM Friday Strothkamp was being transported to St. Louis County Jail on a domestic assault charge. Police say they do not know how Storthkamp got out of the car. The Post-Dispatch reports that there was no camera inside the officer’s car. Investigators expect to get additional information from witnesses–the incident occurred on a busy highway just before lunchtime.

The Overland and Olivette Police are investigating the incident.
