Village clerk suspended over Ferguson shooting comments

Ferguson, Mo ( KTRS ) A local government employee who blamed police for the shooting of two officers in Ferguson has been suspended from his job and could face further punishment.

The village of Uplands Park suspended clerk John Muhammad after he said in a TV interview that the March 12 shooting was a “setup between members of the police fraternity.”

He went on to compare police to the Ku Klux Klan and identified himself as city manager of the 447-person community.

Jeffrey L. Williams, 20. was arrested Sunday and faces several felony charges in connection with the non-fatal shooting. St. Louis County police say Williams admitted the shooting but denied targeting police.
