Vinnie Cascella was gunned down in February in a violent and senseless crime…His mother Eve joined us to talk about the pain and process of working with the unsolved crimes unit

Eve Cascella lost her son Vinnie in a violent murder on the streets of St. Louis. She joined The John Carney Show to put a face on just one of over 100 murders so far in the city this year, and the pain and frustration that comes with the still unsolved mystery.

Vinnie Cascella was shot and killed in February, and his body was found in a burning car. No one knows why anyone would want to harm the 24-year-old, fun-loving, tie-dye-wearing music enthusiast, including the police, who have been searching for clues in the currently stalled and unsolved mystery.

Vinnie’s mother, Eve Cascella, joined The John Carney Show on Friday, to discuss the pain and heartbreak that came with the news that her youngest of four children had be brutally taken in such a way, and the whole new frustrations of dealing with city detectives and the system, when there seems to be a lack of evidence and a stalled murder investigation.

We thank Eve for sharing her story, and putting a face and emotion, behind just one of the over 100 murders in the St. Louis area, just this year alone.
