Voters in Missouri may soon see pot on the ballot

A constitutional amendment that would legalized marijuana in Missouri is moving closer to voter approval. Missouri Sec. of State Jason Kander announced this afternoon that his office has received an initiative petition from Show-Me Cannabis organizers to amend Article IV of the Missouri Constitution. Specially, the proposed amendment would remove cannabis as a controlled substance and allow possession of marijuana for personal or medical use. Kander’s office says that the proposed ballot measure is now open for public comment. Following the 30-day comment window, the Sec. of State will draft ballot summary language before the measure can be approved for 2016’s election cycle.
