Wentzville Board Of Alderman Approves Fireworks Measure

Wentzville, MO (KTRS)  Residents in Wentzville will be allowed to legally shoot off fire works on the Fourth of July.

Wednesday night the Wentzville Board of Alderman approved a measure allowing residents to shoot fireworks from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Independence Day. Mayor Nick Guccione indicated that he would veto the measure. However, the Board of Alderman will likely override that veto.

Guccione says giving people a window of time to set off fireworks will result in additional noise, fireworks debris littering neighbors’ yards, and upset dogs.

Alderman Sonya Shryock, who voted for the bill, said she hoped the five-hour window of legal use would lead to less illegal use of fireworks at other times.
