Sister of woman shot during encounter with police is disputing officers’ version of events
(KTRS) – The sister of a woman shot by St. Louis police last week is disagreeing with the officers’ version of events.
Police were called to a home on reports of an intruder. Officers say when they arrived, Jennifer Morgan-Tyra had a gun and ignored orders to drop the weapon. Police say they shot the woman after she raised the weapon toward officers. Becky Morgan, the woman’s sister, says Morgan-Tyra is paralyzed.
Morgan says her sister called police after encountering an intruder in the home, occupied by a disabled brother. She accused police of shooting as Morgan-Tyra turned away from the officers.
