Bob Costas dropped in on The Carney Show to update us on the Rio Olympics, and how going to a sporting event is the last thing he wants to do on his day off
Bob Costas joined The John Carney Show today to chat up the recent news out of an ever increasingly fragile Brazilian government (the Olympics are 7 weeks away!), and what are his chances of getting pink eye again….
Everyone knows Bob Costas is from St. Louis, mostly because he never shuts up about it, but “Young Bobby Costas” got his start here in town at some other radio station, working for John Carney’s father, Jack. Well, “Young Bobby Costas” isn’t that young anymore, and in fact, he’s older than John Carney, so listening to Carney call one of the most legendary sportscasters “Young Bobby Costas” is kind of weird, which is exactly how the interview started.
Bob is heading to Rio this summer for the Olympics, and we had a chance to catch up to him before he goes abroad, to get his take on the ever increasing fragility of the Brazilian government, and whether or not he’s concerned about going to Brazil right now. Oh, and no joke – this is serious – one of the main symptoms of the Zika virus, is conjunctivitis: pink eye. The guy can’t catch a break!
