St. Louis, MO (KTRS) All eyes are once again on Ferguson. This time for Tuesday’s Municipal Election.
Voters will decide three seats up for grabs on Ferguson’s City Council. The following eight candidates are running:
ELLA M. JONES
ADRIENNE J. HAWKINS
BRIAN P. FLETCHER
ROBERT “BOB” HUDGINS
This election could result in as many as three African-Americans on the City Council for the first time in the city’s history.
In other election news…….Mayor Alvin Parks is running for re-election in East St. Louis. However, his name isn’t on the ballot.
This comes after the Illinois Supreme Court ruled last month that Parks’ name should be stricken from the ballot because he did not submit enough signatures on his petitions. Instead he is running as a write-in candidate.
In St. Charles County……Voters in O’Fallon will decide on a Proposition 1 in the Municipal Election. This would allow the city to issue bonds for the construction of a new police station and municipal court building.
Meanwhile, voters in Wentzville will consider a 25-cent tax levy that would fund a new elementary school, along with several other improvements.
