Cards’ GM Holds Court Before Nats Series
Audio from John Mozeliak
Cardinals’ GM John Mozeliak visited with the St. Louis media before Friday night’s game. Mo’ had no breaking news, but plenty of little bits of information to share.
*On Tommy Pham- “Progressing well. Middle of next week ready to go out on a rehab….he’s been cleared to hit off a machine.”
*On Wong-“He’s getting his strength back. And is available tonight.”
*On Wong going down to Memphis-“At some point if we’re not giving him the opportunity he needs, that’s something we’ll reflect on then.”
*On Jhonny Peralta-“He has been cleared to do baseball activity from a defensive standpoint. Still not cleared to hit. Another week and a half he will be reevaluated and I think at that will be give the green light to go forward.”
*Still no baseball activities for Brayan Pena.
*On Aledmys Diaz after his performance late last year- “We were bullish that he was someone that was going to hit….No doubt he has opened up some eyes.”
*On offense- “There’s more upside than you’re seeing. There’s some upside with Grichuk..getting Holliday back into his groove. I think it could be a very exciting team all summer.”
*Tim Cooney still a few weeks out from any possible time table.

Much needed day off for Yadi Molina……..Adams draws the 1B straw today, and continues to get time in the clean-up spot despite limited AB’s and a .211 average……Oh…and Bryce Harper is in town. How loud will the boos be??
