( KTRS ) A University of Missouri official says about $2 million in donations have been lost in fallout from the Columbia campus unrest last fall.

Simmering tensions came to a head in November protests over what student activists saw as administrators’ indifference to racial problems at the Columbia campus. Protesters were backed by some members of the football team, who threatened to strike.

University system President Tim Wolfe and Columbia campus chancellor R. Bowen Loftin both resigned their posts at the height of the unrest.

Vice Chancellor for Advancement Tom Hiles says that several donors who had pledged money to the university have pulled back their pledges.
